Ukrainian-Russian Backyard Romantic Wedding

Elena is Russian and Brent is of Ukrainian descent and they met in busy Toronto. After years of dating and a very romantic proposal, they chose Brent’s father beautiful country property for their elegant wedding. It rained all night and another summer storm came just after first look, but it didn’t dampen the spirits. The August sun came out and dried everything in record time and Brent, Elena and their guests were able to enjoy the ceremony outside and all the festivities that followed.

But first, let’s see how their day started.

In the meanwhile Brent and his groomsmen… were having too much time on their hands. But quickly fell back in line with following the itinerary of the day.

The couple chose a beautiful pond on the property for the first look. And we finished it just in time before another big summer storm came in.

Rain can never stop us. We made the best of what the house had to offer and took some portraits of the beautiful couple.

This property provided so many opportunities for a wide variety of photos- 2 large ponds, a lily pond, lawns, docks, and all the surrounding buildings.

It was time to tie the knot right in the front lawn, under the kissing balcony. Yes, they did kiss on the balcony, otherwise it wouldn’t be called “a kissing balcony”.

Here comes the beautiful bride….

The “Korovai” is traditional Ukrainian bred, adorned with dove figurines and other symbols of love and fertility and it is eaten by the bride and groom and all their guest.

The sunset was perfect so, naturally, we had to take golden hour photos.

…and now all we had left to do is party and cut that cake!

Now just imagine…

What we can do for you!
