Wedding Expos?

Whether you live in Guelph or elsewhere, planning a wedding should be a love story in itself! You have said ‘Yes’ to the love of your life, you have the ring and the wedding date is organized.

Now to find ways to make sure your wedding turns out exactly the way you dreamed….

My suggestion? Wedding Expos!! But which ones???

Well, here’s some help from me. I have visited and have been a vendor in a significant number of them.

Begin by making a list of the most important things you need for your wedding. Start with the wedding service location, reception venue and definitely your wedding photographer. DO NOT forget your wedding photographer! Like me, Elli Bell Photography 😉

Then, I will suggest in this order, look for your:

  • wedding dress
  • band/DJ
  • bridesmaids dresses
  • wedding invitations
  • florist
  • groom and groomsmen’s suits
  • cars
  • makeup/hair
  • honeymoon destination

Shopping for all these items is much simpler at a wedding expo. It’s a one-stop shop! Some are in big exhibition halls in the city and others are smaller in surrounding towns – these are spread out over the year but mostly heading into the Spring and Fall. I will provide links to some organizers later in my blog.

For your benefit, the big shows will have significant options in all categories. This may get a bit confusing and you will probably forget who said what so just remember to take a pen and make notes on the vendor brochures that will be provided to you. This will allow you to sort out the ones you like and don’t like when you get home.

The small shows will have fewer choices but will give you a chance to talk more in-depth with specific vendors without feeling crowded or pressed for time. The result will be the same, take a pen, make notes and sort through your information when you get home.

My advise would be to attend 2 or 3 expos and then contact the vendors you like. You will see ‘added value’ or ‘discounts’ from vendors to entice you, which will save you money. But don’t sacrifice savings for quality. Choose the vendors you feel are right for you and then take advantage of their specific offers. Keep in mind, each vendor probably has a time limit on their offer so contact them before it expires.

To conclude, wedding shows are terrific and can save you a lot of time and money. But you are also planning the wedding of your dreams and sacrifice is the last option.

Have fun and enjoy every step along this amazing journey.

I look forward to hopefully being part of it. Contact me to arrange your free consultation today! info@ellibelphotography.com
